About This Quote

The first time I saw the movie, “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,” I cried. The story is about a man who had a life that was just as ordinary as my own. He was a photo editor who loved his work and took pride in being on top of things. One day, for some reason, he fell into his old routine and began to dread returning to work.

Then, one day he decides to make things better for himself by leaving his job and heading out on an adventure. But, he quickly realizes how much he misses his job and the people he works with. So, what does he do? He goes home and apologizes to his boss and then gets back to work like nothing happened.

That’s what makes this quote so meaningful; it reveals what happens when we try to escape our cage of everyday life.
